piplupcommanderI feel like I said at one point I was going to move away from using Tumblr as a hub but unfortunately it's still the best platform for gifs (at least until Pillowfort lets me in). So I've got a bunch of gifs from CLC's "No" MV going up there now. There'll be icons later, too. (Is there a good general-purpose kpop comm on here? I've only found RP and fic comms and neither of those are really my jam. I really do not have the time or focus to run one or I'd totally start one.)
With the caveat that I'm going off the English subs on the MV, I feel like people are really misunderstanding the point of the song. It's not "don't dress sexy", it's "I am not defined by the clothes I wear, I am not any one thing, stop trying to put me in that box". And they try, I think, to display that in the MV - Seungyeon is Very Sexy, Yeeun is Kind of Hardcore, Elkie is Very Elegant, Eunbin is Aegyo, Yujin is Innocent (I might be getting those mixed up), Seunghee is Aloof and Sorn is The Coolest. She also plays that part in the MV. So they've all got their individual colors, even within the cohesive aesthetic of the MV. They're not any one thing. Which, lest we forget, is the whole concept of the group. Their concept is that they have no concept. They've done cute and girl-crush and hardcore and classy and sexy. They've just finally got a song that encapsulates that. So to say the MV is hypocritical to the message of the song is off-base, imo. It would have been clearer to have them in different outfits, probably, but I understand going for a cohesive look.
I have Feelings about this, okay. It's a hard push for a girl group and I don't want it to get dismissed on a misunderstanding.
I'm also still doing Critical Role reaction posts, I just can't find a good way to get bullet points on here without having to go down each individual point and make a list in html. Rich text does weird things to my cut text. Might put them here just for a backlog, anyway.
Now back to gifs, and posting gifs, and taking caps, and maybe at some point actually working on that book I'm supposed to be writing.
