A small backlog of Disney icons. Might be some alts for challenges in here, or some from challenges, they all got mixed up at one point and idk if I weeded them out.

getting up at 2am to check Kiddo's blood sugar is murdering me. I have this writing commission I'm supposed to be working on, and it's from someone I really enjoy working with, and I'm enjoying what I'm writing, but I'm too fucking tired to commit words to paper properly. It sucks and I hate it. I've been procrastinating with icon challenges but also do the paying work, Nochi. at least the 2am checks only last the next couple of days (hopefully) (she's doing really well pls let both me and her sleep through the night again)

anyway this is just a spleen-vent post, I'm getting back to it, I'm just v tired and also hungry? I should address that.

Things that have happened entirely in the month of January:

* Kiddo (my roommates' kid, whom I have helped raise and love like my own) got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, just like her dad
* Roommate's health declining again due to stress and as of this posting putting him in the hospital for the third? time since November
* Tax fuckery that we would have had under control if Humolog Jr pens didn't cost $1k each
* Credit card fuckery that we would have under control if etc etc

I guess most of this revolves around the diabetes diagnosis, but I am absolutely not blaming Kiddo. She's been a little superhero through all of this. Every time her dad goes to the hospital she steps up all "I'm a big kid, I can do this, I'm a good helper." (She's seven, for reference.) If I'm casting blame it's on our shitfuck healthcare system. Roommate's health wouldn't have gotten to this point (AGAIN) if we could afford to have his medical issues monitored instead of waiting until it got hospital-bad.

I'm just. I'm very tired.

To end this post on a good note, I am very much looking forward to Overwatch League coming back, and the FF7 remake (if it doesn't get pushed back again), Critical Role is absolutely murdering me lately (in a good way) (mostly), and I recently got into The Magnus Archives, so that's also killing me, mostly in good ways but also in I am an anxious turtle why did I let my friends drag me into this mom come pick me up I'm scared

I started a project to make icons out of every RWBY episode starting with volume 3 and burned out almost immediately, oops. But I got the first two episodes done and part of the third, so I think I'm gonna post them and then just add to this post if I make more, like I do with the ShortOneGaming icons. Lots of base dupes in here as I play with colors and textures and whathaveyou, especially as we get into episode 3. There's 130 of those and I'm not even halfway in, what is wrong with me. Also it's...volume 3 so a lot of it was trying to make them look at all presentable to start with. (Sorry, past CRWBY.)

I feel like I said at one point I was going to move away from using Tumblr as a hub but unfortunately it's still the best platform for gifs (at least until Pillowfort lets me in). So I've got a bunch of gifs from CLC's "No" MV going up there now. There'll be icons later, too. (Is there a good general-purpose kpop comm on here? I've only found RP and fic comms and neither of those are really my jam. I really do not have the time or focus to run one or I'd totally start one.)

I'm also still doing Critical Role reaction posts, I just can't find a good way to get bullet points on here without having to go down each individual point and make a list in html. Rich text does weird things to my cut text. Might put them here just for a backlog, anyway.

Now back to gifs, and posting gifs, and taking caps, and maybe at some point actually working on that book I'm supposed to be writing.

So I'm not doing "resolutions" this year. Calling them that makes them feel like obligations and they stress me out and I Don't Like It. So I'm not calling them that, I'm just making a list of some stuff I'd be pretty jazzed to accomplish in 2019.

• Read more romance novels. I've kind of written off the genre thus far? And that's really unfair of me. Gonna try to fix that.
  
• Write more consistently. This doesn't even really count, this is every year and every year I am disappointed with my output. #writerlife
  
• Kind of a corollary to the above, but finish my novel, get it edited, and start querying. I'm so close to finishing it, but I know editing is going to be the real big challenge.
  
• Cosplay for the first time. (I have a wig and contacts, I am Committed.) (This wig needs some work, tho.)
  
• See my friends for the first time in...eight years? Nine? A while. We're spread out all over the country, and we used to meet up at MAGfest, but since Kiddo was born I haven't been able to make the trip (12+ hours, for me). Maybe I can manage something this year, after she starts school finally.
  
• More graphics! My goal is to improve to the point that I look back at everything I did this year and want to remove it out of shame. (I do not do that, on principle.)
  
• A big want is to spring for an actual desktop. I've had PCs in the past but they were not what I needed, graphically, and there's some stuff I would love to be able to pull off.
  

I feel like that's a pretty reasonable list. And I'm not gonna beat myself up if I don't manage parts of it. That would defeat the whole purpose of not calling them resolutions.

Anybody else got any not-resolutions-but-stuff-you'd-like-to-accomplish?

• I've got some Dragalia Lost icons in the works; it's a very pretty game that has taken over my life, thanks Nintendo.
  
• There's a bunch of ShortOneGaming icons I need to add to this post, as well.
  
• I wrote a small thing introducing Mollymauk and Gilmore into what I'm calling my Modern Magic AU (modern au but D&D mechanics, races, etc are still a thing), that'll go up when I get a chance to post it to AO3.
